I really feel for LW. My dad died when I was 15, also unexpected and horrifying, and my mom remarried so quickly. Quicker than LW's parent. My mom was remarried in a year. It was terrible. I wound up staying with friends and relatives for a few years till I moved in with a partner when I was 17.
