So LW’s primary advisor had such a rough time with LW that they actually prevented LW from continuing in the program. (This is very tough to do; universities love those sweet tuition dollars and will generally keep even crappy students, sexual assaulters, etc.)

Then LW’s best friend fled with no explanation.

Then the end of a romantic relationship was so bad it involved a lengthy court battle with LW’s ex, even though there’s no indication there’s children (custody being a common and understandable reason for serious court battles post-breakup).

LW, you are the problem here, but not in the way that you think.
